How I Came To Support President Trump

I cannot quite quantify why I support Trump. Something inside me, I think. I think its that way for a lot of people. But I can share there story of how I came to support Trump!

It was October 1996. We were in the van to go hunting, again. Billy and I were discussing our plans when we grew up. I said that I wanted to open a hotel with a gun range. Billy mentioned Donald Trump. I realized Trump was a wealthy man, but I wondered why he didn’t run for President. Maybe he had bigger fish to fry.

Then, in February 2013 I was stationed in San Diego. I went to several churches in the area. I wasn’t sure what church to go too. But I settled on a Presbyterian Church called Harbor City. While there, I met a lady. I will call her The Candidate. She took me to eat at the Flavors of East Africa. I never got her name, though she paid for my meal. What a treat. But she would not let me sit. She hurriedly discussed things, she thought might be in our future. One of them, was a “real estate Moghul” running for President. SHe all but named Trump, I realized, as she was talking. The same Trump Billy had introduced me too.

Then, again in 2013 I was underway on my last deployment. We were in the Red Sea, and I had just finished eating and smoking. I was on my way back to radio. I was always thinking of who could beat Clinton. But this time, I had a thought, “Trump could beat Clinton.” He had name recognition, he had money, he had experience with a big organization and he probably had energy! All the things necessary, to potentially beat Clinton. I went into radio, and didn’t think anymore on it, or discuss it either. Thats the thing, I never discussed politics in the NAVY.

Then, fast forward to 2015. I had left the NAVY. I had just begun school in 2015, and I was in Government. The professor announced that Trump was running for President! Imagine my shock! I had thought- and Trump did. Amazing! He actually, surprised me completely. But I was so sure, he would win the nomination I voted for Dr. Ben Carson in the primary! But Trump took it. It was amazing.

Here is Trump coming down the Golden escalator. With Trump, I don’t pay attention just to what he says. I pay attention to his actions!!! When he announced his candidacy I was reinvigorated and he gave me hope, in a time when I had just left the Navy. Grams had just died. I was living in the bottom room, in my Dad’s house. So, it was quite a wonderful surprise when Trump announced his candidacy.
